I've been invited to a 'silent book club' where everyone reads together but doesn't discuss the books. Do I really need to read the book? How will they know? K.T.

Hey K.T. Well what is there to say? Oh wait, nothing is to be said. The part about reading but not discussing the books to be read is baffling. Even with clubs like this, what is the point of doing something that can be done on your own? Besides hello and goodbye there is nothing to say? If you feel you may not want to read the book, then what's the point of going? To answer the question, nobody would know, so again, what's the point?
